What is HSE CONNECT?
HSE CONNECT is a free to attend event organised by the Health and Safety Executive. It brings together industry, the regulator, trades union and intermediaries to showcase good health and safety practice through lectures, seminars, exhibitions, panel discussions, surgeries and workshops.
What are the key themes?
You can choose your own personalised agenda for the day from nearly 100 sessions around four key themes:
• Health and safety made simple – impartial health and safety advice and guidance, helpful for all but with a focus on supporting SMEs
• Making health manageable – preventing, promoting and supporting the reduction of ill health in the workplace
• The changing face of health and safety – the future world of work
• Insights from incidents – real case studies to highlight how HSE works with industry and trades union to learn from the past, protect the present and research the future
Who organises HSE CONNECT?
HSE CONNECT is organised by the Health and Safety Executive.
Where is HSE CONNECT being held?
HSE CONNECT is being held on Wednesday 20 February 2019 at the Vox Conference Centre, Birmingham. Registration is from 9.30am and the day is scheduled to close at 5.15pm.
When can I register for HSE CONNECT?

What does PHE invited guest only mean and how do I know if I am one?
Public Health England are hosting an invite only event during the morning of HSE CONNECT. If you are one of the delegates for this session you will have received a separate, personal invitation from Dr Irene Gonsalvez, Health Improvement Directorate, Public Health England. Unless you have received this letter do not select this session as part of your HSE CONNECT programme.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes, the venue is fully accessible. Any additional needs can be indicated on your registration form.
How much does it cost to attend HSE CONNECT?
HSE CONNECT is FREE to attend for delegates. If you want to exhibit please visit our Sponsors page for information on how to book a stand.
Can I book my sessions in advance?
Once you have registered to attend, using the Register Now button at the bottom of this page, you can then build your own agenda for the day from around 100 different sessions across four key themes. You can amend your personalised agenda at any time but please remember that sessions will get booked up quickly. We will be operating a waiting list for each session and you will be alerted if a place becomes available.
Selecting a session will only reserve you a place at the session and seats will be allocated on the day on a first-come, first-served basis
When will I receive my badge?
You will receive your badge on the day of the event when you sign in at the Vox Conference Centre.
Will the presentations from HSE CONNECT be put up online after the event?
Many of the sessions will be using guidance and tools already available online at the HSE website
We will also be filming some sessions and making them available online after the event. You will receive a link to these once they are available together with your post event survey.
Will my data be shared, if so, who with?
All personal data will be gathered and processed in accordance with our Privacy Notice
Is catering provided?
We have such a lot to share with you that we aren’t stopping the event for a formal lunch break. However there are 15 minute breaks between sessions to allow movement between rooms. Food and drink that is suitable for quick breaks or to take with you into sessions will be available from 12 noon to 2pm with our compliments.
What is the dress code for the events?
Office attire/ Business casual
Will there be photography at the events?
There will be an official photographer at HSE CONNECT and some sessions will be filmed.
If you do not want your photograph used in any materials or to appear on any video please indicate this in your registration.
What if I need to cancel my place at the event after I’ve registered?
Please log back into the registration site using your e-mail as your individual identification and cancel your registration and the sessions you have booked to attend, so that your place can be made available to other delegates.
